Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed via the official news portal that 2020 BlizzCon will be cancelled.
Saralyn Smith, the executive producer of BlizzCon, said that there were a lot of discussions on how the convention would take place, and it came into the decision that they will “recharge the geek battery.”
However, Blizzard is going to see if there will be a new opportunity to hold the event in a different form around early next year. This might mean that they can possibly go full-digital due to the current COVID-19 situation.
BlizzCon is a convention held by Blizzard Entertainment every year.
The purpose of the event is to promote their IPs or give players the first preview of their upcoming games as well as a chance to participate in Q&A session with developers.
