MONSTER HUNTER RISE 2nd Trailer is Now Live, Demo Confirmed for January Release

The 2nd Trailer of Monster Hunter Rise, which will launch Nintendo Switch on 26 March 2021, is now live! New info of Monsters, Endemic Life, Hunting Actions and more are disclosed! Try out the new Wirebug Actions in the Demo coming Jan 2021!

New actions using the Wirebug

The Wirebug doesn’t just feel great to move around with,
it introduces powerful new weapon attacks as well.

• Wiredash
A quick forward dash that even lets you move through the air.

It’s not just a great way of reaching your objective, but it can be chained into attacks and aerial dodges as well, so it’s very helpful during hunts.

• Wall Run
This can be performed by executing a Wiredash towards a wall.

You’ll keep climbing even the steepest of slopes until your stamina is depleted.

• Wirefall
An evasive move that can be used when you’re pushed over or knocked back.

It allows you to regain your footing quickly, so that you can avoid follow-up attacks from monsters.

• Silkbind Attack
A special attack using the Wirebug. All 14 weapons have their own unique Silkbind attacks.

It can be performed with your weapon drawn, making utmost use of the characteristics of each weapon.

The above actions all consume Wirebug gauge, but the number of gauges required and the ensuing cooldown time differ per action.

Ferocious monsters with unique ecologies!

• Somnacanth

A formidable aquatic serpent that crests on moonlit
nights—likely why it has often been mistaken for a
mermaid.

Despite its appearance, it is extremely aggressive, and tolerates no trespassers on its turf.

It expels an intoxicating sleep powder from an organ on its neck, knocking out prey before it can resist.

• Bishaten

A monster with a distinctive tail.

While it is omnivorous, it has a preference for fruit, and keeps various fruits with all kinds of effects in its belly pouch.

An incredibly curious beast, it enjoys playing tricks on people, and has been seen to bat fruit at its prey using its tail.

• Royal Ludroth

A larger male form of the regular Ludroth.
Royal Ludroth use their sponge-like mane to absorb water and keep from drying out on land.

Once the sponge loses moisture, they will seek out water to recover.
They also spew mucus to trip up their prey.

  • Great Wroggi

A larger form of the regular Wroggi.

Wroggi are bird wyverns that travel in packs that are led by the largest and most toxic member.

Be careful when one raises its head and its poison sac expands—that signals that it’s about to spit a cloud of poisonous mist.

Unique locales: Flooded Forest

A dense region of deep, dark green

Due to a constant flow of water, the majority of this forest has become submerged.

The eye-catching ruins here can be scaled by using the Wirebug.

Gain boons from endemic life

The creatures that live in each area are known as endemic life.
They grant a variety of boons to hunters.

• Permabuffers increase your status until the end of the quest: Spiribird

A small species of bird that increase your health, stamina, attack, or defense until the end of the quest.
The extent of the increase as well as the duration depend on the Petalace you have equipped.

• Hunting Helpers can be captured and used as items: Stinkmink

A type of weasel that release a special, smoke-like pheromone when used, allowing it to attract nearby large monsters.
Use it to lure one large monster towards another, causing a turf war.
You can hold up to five Hunting Helpers in your Helper Cage, from where you’ll be able to use them as items until the end of the quest.

• Ensnaring life imparts helpful effects when hunting monsters: Giganha

A species of carnivorous fish that goes absolutely wild when you give them raw meat.
Any monster or hunter nearby is bound to get swept up in their ferociously voracious behavior, taking damage in the process.

• Temp Buffers grant temporary boons: Clothfly

A butterfly that releases a cloud of dust when it is disturbed.
This dust contains a component that has a tightening effect on human skin, temporarily increasing defense.

The Rampage

The Rampage is a catastrophic event where countless monsters attack the village all at once.

People have lived in fear of it since ancient times, but nobody knows why it occurs.

Kamura has fallen victim to this phenomenon numerous times as well, and especially the Rampage that happened 50 years ago came close to wiping out the entire village.

The villagers are training day in day out to prevent this tragedy from reoccurring, and they have built a sturdy Stronghold to prepare  for the next invasion.
